Robert, thank you, this is useful and encouraging. It would, however, be helpful to see net additions/cancelations…ie if 5 in a region are cancelled in a period, and 7 are added, how does the net +2 trend over time.. are we still adding more projects?

There's no doubt that solar and wind capacity is growing all over the world. those numbers are easily found in the Statistical Review of World Energy and other publications.

Great piece! “Asshat academics.” 🤣🤣 Classic.

Thanks. Yes, I borrowed "asshat" from Matt Taibbi. Fits perfectly in this context.

Thanks Robert! I am forwarding this article to Samuele Furfari, who until 2018 was one of the EU Commission's top and trusted energy experts. Your fans (like me) will find his books and articles slamming the (unelected) EU Commission's "green transition religion" economically ruinous for EU consumers like me! https://www.linkedin.com/in/samuelefurfari/?originalSubdomain=be. You guys need to meet each other!

What does the database look like for communities opposing natural gas, coal, biomass, and nuclear plants? Is this confirmation bias, or isn’t it true that the majority of large infrastructure projects are opposed by local communities?
