Excellent, as always. All wind and solar installations are a complete waste of resources - material, land, time, labor, and energy - and should be halted and undone ASAP. The waste is due to both a very low ratio of energy output to energy input (or energy return over energy invested, EROI) and their intermittency that has to be filled in by either the very fossil fuels they aim to eliminate, or nuclear energy. If backup were provided by nuclear, it would soon become obvious that the wind and solar are simply parasites that diminish the very high EROI and reliability of nuclear. But speaking of wind, the headwinds against nuclear are based on distortions, exaggerations, and fabrications; nuclear has the greatest safety record over the last 60-70 years of any energy source, and by more than a little. "“I know a thing or two about the saltwater environment. I can’t imagine what it will take to keep these things running in salt water.”

I work international major oil & gas project construction. I've learned that whenever you say "offshore" you need to add at least three zeros to your CAPEX and OPEX cost estimates. The marine environment is freakin' brutal, even without hurricanes.
