Reasons to oppose nuclear power?

1. to raise money by creating public fear.

2. to protect the multibillion dollar radiation protection industry.

3. to protect the fossil fuel industry.

4. to mobilize voters against a common enemy to get elected.

5. to continue subsidies maintaining the wind/solar/battery industry.

6. to prevent competition from arising developing nations.

7. to perpetuate the bureaucracies of government regulators.

8. to maintain ill-gained reputations of radiation advisory NGOs.

any more?

Back in the mid 70s I was a newspaper reporter tasked with explaining the origins of the anti-nuclear crowd.

What I found was that the fellows behind the the anti-nuclear power were skillful propagandists who convinced the public that the milk being sold in our nation was contaminated by nuclear fallout, and thus a serious danger to children.

Not much has changed since then.
