Very incisive, as always. Robert, please tell Smil that many of us spend much of that time on our mobile phones reading your work and others on Substack and that not all of us are looking at imbecilic videos 😂. On a more serious note, the root problem is that the public education system failed millions of Americans in failing to educate them about the basic laws of science. That failure was on prominent display at the recent protests when students at elite universities demonstrated their complete ignorance of history, geography, and reality.

great essay.

the illiteracy problem across the West is one of the most underreported issues we face today. it explains so much of the last decade. in fact, one could argue that the two greatest scandals of this century are the rising inequality and transfer of wealth caused by the Green Agenda and the catastrophic Covid response.

without a fundamental understanding physics and thermodynamics, the Net Zero movement has convinced the public that we can indeed have a free lunch. the idea that we can swap out hydrocarbons for solar panels and windfarms and maintain our current levels of energy consumption and global trade is beyond delusional. it’s insane.

without a fundamental understanding of basic biology and immunity, the Covid response convinced a population that lockdowns, masks and gene therapy would save us from a novel respiratory virus. not only did this not work, it created the largest transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich in history.

here is what I struggle with every week, especially concerning energy: I can’t tell if we are being controlled by vain, pretentious idiots, who simply can’t see that green energy and NetZero policies are a bust…OR: do they actually know this and are intentionally creating a market of artificial scarcity in order to control the population and ensure their stranglehold on power?

I’m being completely serious here. I realize that Hanlon’s razor might be the go to explanation, but some days I look at the news and see straight up malice…
